Each year, the club plans 2 horse shows. The Open Pleasure Show was started in 2000, before the Equestrians split off from the original Clover Rockets group. Main Stay Therapeutic Riding Center in Richmond, IL has been the beneficiary of the procceds from this show since the beginning. Each year since 2005, the members go to observe an actual lesson and then present the check to the director. They spend some time talking with the students and/or their parents, who tell them the wonderful things that the program has done for them. check it out at www.mstrp.org

Presenting the check to director Patti Klein-Manke at HAHS

The speed show started in 2005. The beneficiaries of this show are the Hooved Animal Humane Society in Woodstock, IL www.hahs.org and the Hooved Animal Rescue and Protection Society in Barrington, IL. www.harpsonline.org. They are both worthwhile organizations helping horses and other hooved animals and the members did not want to choose between them, so the proceeds are split. In the fall each year, the members make a trip to each location to view their facilities, see the animals there and present them with their check.

Presenting the check to Char at the food pantry.

The club also donates money to the Spring Grove/Richmond food pantry. They learn how the food and supplies are distributed and how the food pantry helps people who have fallen on hard times.

Packing boxes that went overseas to our troops for Xmas.

This year the club shopped for the Troops and then helped pack the many boxes that were shipped out for Xmas. They received numerous thank you letters from the soldiers, both men and women.

They gave out their last check to Canter, an organization that helps rehabilitate and place ex-race horses right off the track. There is a trip planned in the spring to visit the track to see firsthand how this is accomplished.
