What does a 4-H club do?

4-H groups hold regular (usually monthly) business meetings that are lead by membership elected Officers.

  4-H provides Officer Training skills.

  4-H has over 175 project areas for youth to experience.

  4-H projects offer hands on, learn by doing opportunities.

  Members decide the level of learning they are comfortable with.

  4-H provides avenues for membership to learn about and participate in Community service activities.

 4-H provides Leadership opportunities.

  Members exhibit projects at the McHenry County Fair.

  Members are eligible for local, county, state and national awards,

  4-H gives youth an opportunity to grow in Self-esteem and Self-confidence.

Our Club is primarily a Horse club for youth to learn more about horses and how to care for them. However, members may enroll in other projects (listed below) as well.

The club meets the second Wednesday of each month, usually at the State Bank of the Lakes community room (in the basement of the bank), in Spring Grove, IL.

Sometimes they meet at a local barn, when a member needs a horse to do their demonstration.

The meetings get under way by 7:15 pm and last about 1.5 hours.
